An established epicenter of research, and with easy access to French and German markets, the Basel Area is an exciting place for entrepreneurs to to start and grow their businesses. Since supportive environments that provide resources and comfortable workspaces are a key part of any entrepreneurial ecosystem, here are the top seven coworking spaces in the region according to the local community.

Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area was founded in 2016 as part of a network of innovation parks created by the foundation Switzerland Innovation – an initiative to promote research, development and collaboration between companies, startups and universities in Switzerland. The park is spread across four sites in the Basel Area. The focus of the main site, Allschwil, is biotech and medtech, the Basel and Novartis Campus sites are home to digital health, and the Jura site is focused on medtech, digital health, healthtech and industrial transformation. A new Allschwil site will open as the main campus in 2022, where a new state-of- the-art building designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron will offer 50,000 m2 of office and lab space.

All sites offer a wide range of facilities, including office spaces, coworking areas, private and shared labs, meeting rooms, lounges and cafeterias. Accelerator programs also take place at each of the sites.

Founded in the year 2000 Business Parc Reinach started in 2017 offering coworking space where startups and entrepreneurs alike can benefit from shared high-end facilities and member perks such as telephone and postal services. The space includes a total of 4,000 m2 of office space, including 150 m2 dedicated to ten coworking spaces. Members can choose between two options: Coworking Fix, which requires a rental period of at least six months, and Coworking Flex, which allows members to reserve a space for a certain period of time.

Business Parc Reinach caters to a wide variety of business sectors, with members in IT, life sciences and technology, among others. It also offers free consulting for startups based in Basel-Landschaft – a team of experts is available to assist entrepreneurs through all stages of the startup lifecycle. Business Parc Reinach is developing a new building, which will provide space for fifty more companies.
